If the internet feels confusing, noisy, or overwhelming right now, you’re not imagining it.

A lot has changed and most people don't know what actually matters anymore.

This page is about getting your footing set in the right direction.

When I first started building websites back in the early 2000s, things were simpler.

The rules were simpler. If you knew the right rules, you had an unfair advantage.

Today, the internet still works that way — but the noise has increased.

Here’s the most important thing to understand:

Google is no longer the only judge.

Nor does Google judge you (your website or digital properties) in the same way.

Google has gone the way of the AI and will eventually do away with the old traditional ranking system.

That system is already dramatically much less productive for website owners because of Google's injection of AI Overviews.

But you don’t need to be technical or well versed in what works and what doesn't work in Google right now or in the future.

You just need to learn the basic rules that have been pretty much the same since Google was born.

What those rules are, how and when to apply them is what I will guide you on in the Private Learning Community.

You also don’t need to be loud or “brand yourself” in ways that feel fake.

You just need a basic understanding of:

• What you’re actually offering
• Who it’s for
• Where it lives online
• And how people (and systems) discover it

Which is to say you need clarity.

That’s it. Those fundamentals haven’t changed — they’ve just been buried under noise.

If you’re starting from zero, that’s okay. Zero is clean, honest and a great place to learn without bad habits.
